Nahla Header

My cat’s name is Nahla. She is a 4 year old Persian beauty. Nahla has always been a very anxious and easily frightened cat. Whenever anyone enters our home she runs and hides. She won’t come out until about half an hour after they leave. She also does not allow us to groom her properly. I have a hard time brushing her thoroughly and cutting her nails because she squirms and tries to run away. She isn’t generally an aggressive cat but she will try to scratch and bite me to avoid grooming. Because her fur is long it eventually became very matted. I knew that I had to do something about it before her health was compromised.

I searched online for a solution and that’s when I found Christine. I didn’t have much hope at first but I knew I at least needed to give her a try. As I drove Nahla to her grooming appointment I was very nervous. I truly believed she would bite and scratch and I would just have to bring her home. I thought I would traumatize her and just make things worse. I almost turned around and drove back home. But I reminded myself again how important it was for Nahla’s well being and kept driving. When I arrived I think I was more nervous than Nahla. Christine was very understanding of my apprehension and took the time to make me comfortable. She explained her process to me and put my worries at ease. She then proceeded to Nahla. I thought this is it, this is the moment she attacks and we are out of here. I have never been more glad to be so wrong! Nahla was completely calm with Christine. She took the time to get to know my cat. She built a trusting relationship with her before moving onto the nail clipping, combing, shaving, bathing, and drying. I was absolutely amazed at how calm and well behaved Nahla was. But it was because Christine was so kind to her. She showed her respect and Nahla did the same in return. She even gave her breaks when she started to get uneasy. She held her and comforted her. After her bath she fell asleep in her arms while wrapped up in a towel. It amazed me to watch her work. It’s very clear that she loves these animals and knows how to approach them. For any pet parents out there like me, who have an anxious and anti-social cat, please believe me when I say you need to give Christine a chance. She is a trained professional who is skilled at her craft and will get the job done. I know it’s intimidating but give her a chance, I promise she won’t disappoint! Sonya
