Let’s face it. Your pet probably looks forward to the groomer like you look forward to the dentist! That’s where I come in. I make their grooming experience a positive one.

For starters, my studio is in my house, so your pet will feel at home. They’ll also pick up on my dogs’ calm energy, which also helps them relax.

Giving your pet some time to get comfortable in this new environment will put them in the best frame of mind to be handled. If your pet is overstimulated or anxious, this will help bring back their natural balance.

The most critical part of the groom is building trust with your pet. I go at a pace that gives the animal time to communicate to me what their previous grooming experience has been. This information helps ensure that I work with them in a way that makes them feel safe and comfortable.

Next I check their eyes, ears, teeth, gums, etc. While a groomer is certainly no substitute for your vet, we can help identify issues you may not know about. So then you can talk to your vet – early detection is key!

Being there
You’re welcome to stay and watch me groom.

You and your pet don’t know me yet. I believe it’s important for you to watch and understand the process from start to finish. You’ll not only get the groom you want, you’ll understand how your pet responds to being groomed. It’s also a great opportunity to ask questions about your pet, and can be a very educational experience!

Scaredy Cats
From the moment your crate comes out at home, your cat is probably on edge. They get into the car and then come to a strange house. So the cat is coming in a very anxious state of mind. When you first come into my studio, I set the crate down and cover it with a towel for 10 minutes so your cat can listen to and smell their environment from the safety of their crate. Then the crate goes on the table and I wait for the cat to come out on his own. This makes it so much less stressful on your pet.
