My “shih Tzu” Bailey, came from another family before we adopted him. He came to our house very traumatized, with food, training, biting and trust issues. Our family has slowly overcame most issues and he is now a part of a family who loves him very much. The main issue that we tried really hard and many different outlets to resolve was his trust issue with strangers, until now he barks at strangers. His grooming has always been an issue, where we have had him returned to us with cuts and bruises with no explanation except he was being violent. So, we kept moving groomer after groomer, but even without the cuts and bruises, he always came back shaking and unable to play or eat for a day or two after.
I found Christine Kay’s number and description of her services online and I remember seeing that she dealt with traumatized dogs specifically and one of her requirements is the owner stays with their pet during the entire first visit. I was surprised by this because all other groomers had not accommodated that request in the past.
Safe to say I made the right choice when I called Christine, she was amazing with Bailey. I learned so much from her in just that first day when she spent a very patient 4 hours with Bailey, getting to know him and for him to trust her and finally groom him J I couldn’t be more proud of him and thankful to Christine. I’m happy I know that Bailey won’t be subject to further traumas. He was very happy when he came home and was strutting around with his new hair cut! I look forward to Bailey and myself building a relationship with Christine. She also knows a lot about dogs, other than just grooming, and seems very interested and kind to her own dogs. Jannice
